Trying to capture that elusive “sense of place” with a film camera remains a constant challenge for me. The Cambridgeshire Great Fen project aims to restore historic fen wetlands giving sanctuary to wildlife and giving us a glimpse of what this wonderful area, I am proud to call home, was once like.
With a distinctive light, fleeting ghosts of past times seem to watch you from the corner of your eye as you wander round these wetland areas. Reeds come into stark focus but everything else is transitory, ethereal, ephemeral moment of time.
How to respond to this landscape, to the light, to the stillness.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures!
