I live on the edge of the Cambridgeshire Fenlands, a place of wide flat vistas, big skies and ever changing landscape shaped by man from water and reeds to black soil, drains and long straight roads or droves.
For the last 20 years I have been photographing the landscape within a 10 mile radius of my home, using a variety of film cameras from Polaroid to 35mm and up to 5×4, a darkroom at home allows me to take the negatives and make individual hand printed silver prints.
As well as my love for Fenland I have a constant curiosity to see how things look when photographed, and to make prints. Everyone should make prints.
For those that are interested I am using the following equipment and materials
Toyo 45a 5×4 Field Camera
Fuji GW690 Medium Format
Mamiya RB67
Zero 2000 Pinhole, RSS Pinhole,
Rolleiflex 3.5 Twin Lens Reflex
SX70 Instant Camera
In the Darkroom……..
Devere 504 Enlarger
Meopta Magnifax Enlarger
Nova Quad 12×16 Print Processor and Nova Archival Washer
I use exclusively Ilford Multigrade paper and chemicals
Film stock is Ilford HP5+, FP4+ and some Fomapan 100 – mostly developed in ID11 1+1 but more recently PyrocatHC and Caffenol!
